Wenschow maps are famous for their quality and accuracy all over the world.
The Wenschow maps were made with a photo-mechanical process for the German
Air-Force to fly by that shows how accurate the maps are. The photo
mechanical
process allows much greater accuracy in terrain depiction than was (or is)
possible otherwise.
The Wenschow cartography used a pantograph process that had one arm tracing the
contours (lines) and the other arm carving a precise relief map that is later
photographed.
Of course this was too detailed for school use, so some simplification was
applied to
those maps, but they are still more accurate than others.
Wenschow combines know-how and standards of traditional cartography with up to
date technology to live up to their own set high standard.
The new generation of Wenschow Cartographers worked very hard to live up to this
Standard and be the # 1 mapmaker worldwide.
The Wenschow technique was patented all over the world. |
